Unlocking long term engagement & retention for a speech-based reading tutor
Longitudinal ethnographic study in rural & urban Rajasthan, India with 50 participant families
CHALLENGE
Despite stellar growth, product analytics showed that ████ █████ was losing engagement from users around the 3rd week from installation. The product team at ██████ reached out to us to diagnose the reasons for this drop in engagement by understanding why users return to the product often, the barriers that prevent them from using the product frequently and the archetypical characteristics of engaged users, intermittent users & disengaged users.
OUTCOME
A deep, foundational understanding of the habits, usage scenarios, attitudes & motivations, user journeys and changes in behaviour that users undergo during the entire product lifecycle with a stacked rank of tactical, strategic & explorative opportunities that influenced the product roadmap for over 2 years.
